The Indiana Masonic Home, Inc. (IMH) is a licensed continuing care retirement community located in Franklin, IN. We have provided for eligible residents since 1916. We recognize that “one size does not fit all”. Today, the Indiana Masonic Home is home to over 400 residents. It is a Continuing Care Retirement Community affording lifestyles in Cottages, Duplex units, Residential Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments, Skilled Nursing Care and Memory Care. Indiana Masonic Home may provide Outreach Services to eligible members in the community where they reside at the time they apply for assistance.
Our Independent Living accommodations are houses, apartments, and duplexes located on our property that is not part of the congregate living studios and apartments. Residents pay for their own telephone, electricity, gas, and television services. Trash pick-up and water are included with the monthly maintenance fee. Also, available is the Protect Alert system available for the Independent Living Resident to purchase. This can be worn as a pendant or on the wrist. Emergency response to medical or other emergencies, access to all public accommodations such as dining room, library, meeting rooms, exercise areas, etc., routine maintenance on the accommodation, and yard maintenance are included services. Other ancillary services are available a-la-carte such as activities, meals, transportation, nursing care, medical care, business services, etc.
Residential Living accommodations are studios and apartments located in the congregate living area of the IMH property. Residents pay for their own telephone and television services. Utilities, emergency response to medical or other emergencies, access to all public accommodations, such as, dining room, library, meeting rooms, exercise areas, etc., routine maintenance of the accommodation are included services. Other ancillary services are available a-la-carte such as activities, meals, transportation, nursing care, medical care, home health services, business services, etc. Depending on whether a kitchen is in the accommodations, meals may be included in the basic service fee. Protect Alert response system is provided for each Residential Living Resident available as a pendant or can be worn on the wrist.
At our Assisted Living Center, we know how much you value your independence. That’s why we work to ensure you retain your privacy and dignity in the comfort of your own apartment. All of the amenities for you to continue to be independent have been built into each living area—from flooring surfaces to kitchenette to bathroom accommodations. The Assisted Living Center’s approach is to respect your autonomy while providing you the individualized help designed just for you. We also help with everyday tasks as well as health needs is close by—without being intrusive. You gain the assistance needed at the right time and place. It’s a secure environment that emphasizes personal attention and individual worth. Areas of support include help with laundry, housekeeping, meals, medicine and health services—to name only a few. No matter the level of assistance needed, you can always count on a helping hand nearby.
Special Memory Care accommodations are closely associated with the Medical and Wellness Center on the IMH property. There is a growing need for specialized care and housing tailored to the special needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Our Special Care community offers care that fosters residents’ individual skills and interests in an environment that helps to diminish confusion and agitation. Services are provided in a secure environment. Activity programs include reality orientation classes. Specially trained professionals are skilled in handling the behavior associated with memory impairments. Our building design has features that assist with the complications associated with this disease: open hallways, visual cues, and secure wandering paths for additional security. In our special care community, we offer assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, and other daily activities, as well as assistance with medications. Meals, laundry and housekeeping are provided within private and semi-private rooms in a “home-like” setting.
Our ReGeneration Rehabilitation Center specializes in short-term rehabilitation. Short-term rehabilitation is normally prescribed for those in need of extensive nursing and therapeutic care/services following an in-patient, acute care hospitalization. Good candidates for short-term rehabilitation are those with recent hip fractures, CVA (stroke), amputations, joint replacements, wound care, pain management, certain neurological impairments or other lengthy or medically complicated illnesses. Our Transitional Care Unit is a dedicated, 12-bed unit designed to be a bridge between in-patient, acute care hospitalization and home (or a lower level of care) where recuperation and the restoration of functional independence is the primary goal. The unique size of the Transitional Care Unit insures personalized care, attention to detail, and an exact focus on your personal health care needs. Your care will be approached from a multi-disciplinary perspective where close collaboration between each of your professional caregivers will be directed according to a plan of care in which you and your family are instrumental. Throughout, your care will be supervised by a board certified physician and eagerly provided by a staff of well trained, caring, and compassionate caregivers. You can be assured that at the Indiana Masonic Home, your independence rather than dependence is a top priority.
Restorative and interim nursing care accommodations are located in the Health and Wellness Center. Whether you are recovering from a hip replacement, stroke, de-conditioning, or need IV antibiotics, the Indiana Masonic Home can help you transition from the hospital to home. These are just a few examples of situations when a person might qualify for a short term stay in our Skilled Nursing accommodations. We offer the services of excellent therapists to manage your specific needs and help you improve to your maximum level of function. Our 24-hour nursing professionals are here to assist you. These services, provided in the required setting, are reimbursable thru Medicare Part A and a Medicare supplemental insurance. IMH is also a participating provider for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Veteran’s Affairs. [“VA”] We can help you transition to home, an Assisted Living, or another nursing facility – depending on your individual needs. If you plan to return home, we will assist in setting up several home health visits after your discharge to evaluate for equipment needs and to facilitate a smooth return. If you decide to pursue long term care, we can provide the necessary paperwork so you can transition to a facility that best meets your needs. Our interdisciplinary approach includes not only Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy – it also incorporates our Social Worker, Activities Department, Nursing staff, and Dietary consultants. We offer Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy at least 5 days a week. Our goal is to assist you reach your highest level of function.
