Resolutions…you will most definitely be hearing from your friends and family how they plan to improve themselves in the New Year.  Here are some of the more popular resolutions you’ll hear, along with maybe some new ideas for you.  Whether it’s health or wealth – HAPPY NEW YEAR!

SeniorsGuideOnline.com writer Terri L. Jones compiled this list of resolutions.  If you have any more, we’d love to hear them…

I resolve to do something new, different and fun this year

Take a trip

Maybe you’ve always wanted to rent a villa in Tuscany or visit some relatives who are a train trip away. If you have the money to do it (check with your financial advisor), there’s no time like the present. Buy a ticket, pack a bag and head where your heart takes you.

Sign up for a class

Need to learn to use that iPad your kids gave you for Christmas? Maybe you’ve always wanted to try your hand at [insert passion here]? While you probably haven’t sat in a classroom for years, learning something new is a great way to keep your mind active and even make some new friends in the process.

Go on a date

No matter what your age, a little harmless flirtation is the surest way to put a spring back in your step and a sparkle in your eye. Say “yes” to your neighbor’s invitation to coffee; seriously consider your kids’ offer to set you up. All you have to lose is an hour or two out of life … and you have fun, maybe even love, to gain!

Do something radical

Stepping out of your comfort zone could involve high altitudes and a parachute or might be as simple as trying a new hairstyle. Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t—you’re right.” This year, think you “can.” It can be incredibly empowering!

What are some of your resolutions for the upcoming year?  Tell us in the comments!
