Testimonials

We moved into our beautiful Ohio Living Cape May villa in April, 2017 after looking online and visiting several communities. We were searching for a place to live out our retirement years closer to family in the Columbus area. At each community that we visited, residents were happy and said it was the best place for them. We learned that we had to find the place that was the best fit for us and OLCM was it. Since moving here from the Akron area, OLCM has felt like home. We arrived with Barb having just spent several days in the hospital following major surgery and needing home care. Tom Dreyer, our then-Transitional Care Liaison, was instrumental in meeting Barb’s immediate needs. One of the things that attracted us to the OLCM community, and the surrounding area of Wilmington, is that they provide close proximity to virtually everything we need as we age including health care, entertainment, and opportunities for socialization. Additionally, OLCM proved to be the most affordable option for us, when compared with other facilities in central and southwest Ohio. When we sit in our sunroom looking out at the pond and fountain, we feel as though OLCM has truly become our Happy Place! We hope others will find this to be their happy place as well.

Aging is a major fact of life. You go along and all of a sudden you are no longer able to do the things you have taken for granted. Climbing stairs with ease, lifting a box of books, moving furniture, etc., etc., etc.. I recall that every time I climbed on a mower or shoveled the snow off the driveway, I thought that I wasted another two or three hours of my life. Ohio Living Cape May has solved that minor problem. However moving to Cape May involved a much larger problem. Both my wife and I went through some very difficult years with both set of our parents. We loved our parents dearly and it seemed we could not do enough for them in their last years. We were both amazed how much time we tried to spend with them. Every week a new problem arose, medical, living quarters, proper diet just to name a few. There had to be a better way. At some point we discovered Cape May. Everything about this facility seemed to appeal to us. The stepping stone life style from villa, to apartment, to assisted living made sense. We were sure we did not want to put our children through what we went through. The idea that we would be with other friends that we knew and could share the so called “Golden Years” with them made great common sense. Also, the fact that we are here for life if funds disappear was hard to turn our backs on. Was it hard to leave a home we built and enjoyed for over 20 years, you bet. But after being at Cape May for almost 3 years, we have no doubt we made the right decision. Not many things are perfect in this life, but Ohio Living, Cape May has proven to be close…
