We have the people, resources, systems, and knowledge necessary to make sure our clients get the help they need to enjoy living independently at home. The Wilmington, NC office was the recipient of the 2014 Leader in Excellent Award, 2015 Provider of Choice Award and 2015 Employer of Choice Award. These qualities, among others, are what truly set us apart. Senior Helpers provides personalized daily plans that preserve seniors’ independence and freedom.

Senior Helpers provides Companion Care assistance with everyday living activities, along with the social interaction that is key to your loved one’s happiness.

Companionship includes general shopping and errands, meal preparation, help with hobbies, gardening, light housekeeping, pet care, and transportation needs.

Personal Care provides your loved one(s) with experienced caregivers that make everyday life more manageable for seniors by helping them with more intimate care needs such as personal hygiene assistance, walking assistance and dressing assistance.

At Senior Helpers, our professional, trained caregivers take a positive approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care with our unique Senior Gems program. This method focuses on what people with dementia can do, instead of what they cannot do.

The Gems classification system allows us to understand which stage of dementia the person is experiencing so we can create the best service plan and select the best caregiver for that individual.

We work closely with dementia expert and registered occupational therapist, Teepa Snow (MS, OTR/L, FAOTA). With over 30 years of professional experience and having provided care for several family members with dementia, Teepa brings a strong clinical base and a unique perspective on how our brains control our bodies and behaviors.

Senior Helpers caregivers are trained using her approach and techniques which can help change resistance and refusals into participation and successful interactions. All Senior Helpers caregivers are employees of our company and are insured and bonded.
