Active Adult Communities

You’re definitely different from your parents’ generation. Instead of just sitting around playing cards, knitting or even playing golf, you’re enthusiastic about this chapter in your life and want to remain as physically and mentally active, social, and healthy as possible.

Wellpoint Community has been listening to today’s more vibrant generation of seniors and is developing an innovative group of planned communities, in partnership with LifeCenters Communities, LLC, Charter Senior Living and the Hutchinson Group, which will completely redefine senior living.

“We offer a lifestyle that couples hospitality and healthcare,” says Joseph McCarron, CEO of LifeCenters Communities representing the project sponsor and developer. “It’s a planned environment that’s connected to the broader community by offering engaging programming for all age groups. We envision this as a place where people want to live; not simply that they are destined to spend their remaining years as so many other senior living communities are often structured.”

The master planned development will include a boutique hotel and a residential campus, featuring freestanding villas, townhomes and senior living. However, the foundation of Wellpoint’s senior living model is a preventive approach to health, including a progressive, integrative wellness center and a wide range of opportunities for fitness and nutritional support. Wellpoint residents will also have access to alternative therapies such as acupuncture, sound therapy, reiki, hydrotherapy, cryosauna therapies, and more.

Another distinctive feature of Wellpoint communities is a co-working space designed to be a community incubator or a tool to create interaction across generations. Through partnerships with the community, healthcare providers, biotech companies, local medical schools, and universities, this center will also provide opportunities for research and technology advancement.

Among the amenities at Wellpoint communities are a juice bar, a beauty salon and barber shop, a full spa, a community kitchen and gardens and an entertainment amphitheater.

The first Wellpoint senior living community is slated to open in Huntsville, AL, in May 2020, with three more communities to follow in Tennessee, Florida, and New England.
