In 2014, a spirited group of senior women, ages 64-76, determined to improve their health and mobility through fun exercise, created the dance troupe, Sassy feet. Overcoming severe health issues such as an ankle replacement, knee replacement, spinal issues, other knee surgeries, and breast cancer, these spunky women desired to stay mobile and exercise for cardio, social interaction to make new friends, and to encourage other seniors to be more active and healthy.
They give back to the community by speaking, performing, and promoting the benefits of fun exercise, memory retention, coordination, mobility and fellowship and assume all cost of costumes and travel. Sassy feet perform at town events, senior and church events, private parties, and compete in the Senior Games. Beginning their fifth year together as a dance troupe, they are happier and healthier as a result of their “Sassy feet”.
