Garner G Squad performing to Adele’s Rumour Has it at the Garner Showcase of Talent
The G Squad performs around town on a volunteer basis at nursing homes, local town events, and competes in the local Senior Games. Anyone that is a member of the Garner Senior Center may join the G Squad. There aren’t any auditions. We try and keep costs of costumes and traveling low. We rehearse twice a week at the senior center. It’s fun, great exercise, great group of ladies, learning the choreography helps with memory function and we are giving back to the town and community.
Our goal is to let the public know “Age is Only a Number” and even though we are considered seniors “”We Still Got It”. Ages range from 69-78. We modify tempo and moves to accommodate all the health issues of the group, bad hips, shoulders, knees etc (that list is endless). This is a video at the Free Garner Showcase of Talent held the few years at the Garner Performing Art Center. This show showcases local talent. Miss NC Arley Honneycutt was at this year show and we danced before Scotty McReery (American Idol) a few years ago.
