Diane Faison performs ” The Spirit of Harriet Tubman” at universities, public and private schools, retirement homes, churches, and civic organizations throughout North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia. Through her riveting 50-minute performance, the audiences are transported into Harriet’s world as a slave, a leader of the Underground Railroad, a Union spy, and humanitarian.
During the 50-minute performance, Diane as Tubman talks of Tubman’s childhood and youth as a slave and on her psychological and physical journey to freedom. Tubman then returns to the South and leads hundreds of others to liberation. Faison has been telling Harriet’s story for over 25 years at colleges, universities, schools, churches and other institutions throughout North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.
